Raw Material for Subsequent Manufacture into Finished Product

Raw materials are held in stock, allowing for shorter customer lead times and enabling us to produce - at very short notice - any non-standard components that may be required. Our control of raw material means that quality standards can be established and maintained from the melting stage.

Finished Pipework Components

Weir Materials and Foundries contract manage the manufacture and distribution of pipework system packages worldwide. We hold extensive stocks of finished pipework components so that we can deliver to customers within even the shortest of lead times. This is particularly advantageous when projects approach commissioning and shortfalls are identified. We also provide support for other equipment manufacturers, ensuring continuity of a project materials philosophy.

Weir Materials and Foundries is a major stockholder of Super Duplex stainless steel products with over £5 million of rolling stock in the following product forms:

  • Plate 1mm - 50mm Thick
  • Bar 3/8" - 14" Dia
  • Billet 1" - 18" Dia
  • Seamless Pipe 1/2" - 8" NB

Products Manufactured to Specific Requirements

When customers require pipework component systems to be manufactured to specific requirements, our technical and manufacturing facilities and expertise enables us to provide pipework components which have been manufactured, tested and, where appropriate, re-certified to individual specifications. We specialise in Zeron® 100 Super Duplex Stainless Steel but also supply UNS S31803, UNS S32205 and other corrosion resistant alloys.

Fabricated Components

We have a facility to fabricate spools and vessels to client requirements. We can also provide a design facility.

Zeron 100®

Zeron 100® is a highly alloyed super duplex stainless steel for use in aggressive environments. Its properties include:
  • Guaranteed corrosion performance (PREN>40)
  • High resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
  • Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in both chloride and sour environments
  • High resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue
  • Excellent mechanical properties
  • Possibilities for weight reduction over austenitic, standard duplex and nickel base alloys
  • Good weldability

The combination of the above properties makes Zeron 100 the optimum choice in a range of industries. Unlike UNS S32760, the composition of Zeron 100 is strictly controlled in accordance with in house specifications ensuring consistent quality is produced. Oil and gas industry applications include process, seawater, firewater and subsea pipework systems, with associated risers, manifolds, pressure vessels, valves and heat exchangers. Applications of Zeron 100 in other industries include pipework systems and associated engineering equipment for pollution control, pulp and paper, power generation, flue gas desulphurisation, chemical, pharmaceutical, desalination, mining, metallurgical and marine industries.
